The Higher Institute for Plastics Fabrication was established in September 2007 as a non-profit institute on the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, in light of which an agreement was signed between the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and Sharq Company (SABIC). The Japanese company SPDC, the Japanese partner of Sharq Company, contributed to the establishment of the institute.
The Higher Institute for Plastics Fabrication is considered the first institute of its kind and is specialized in qualifying national cadres as skilled technicians in the booming plastic industry sector in the Kingdom through a distinguished training program provided in full English and supervised by Japanese experts from one of the largest Japanese plastic companies. The training is also carried out by Saudi engineers who are graduates from Saudi universities and who have benefited from scholarship programs, in addition to trainers from different countries holding an engineering degree and have long experience in the plastics industry sector.
HIPF is located in the second industrial area in Riyadh, on an area of 60,000 square meters. It contains in its training workshops 68 production lines from the best factories in the world, with a cost of nearly 150 million riyals.
HIPF receives high school holders, where graduation does not exceed three years, and after conducting personal interviews and English language tests, 150 applicants are accepted.
HIPF offers specialized courses for those who are looking for more specialization to increase their knowledge and skills in the plastics industries.
In addition to the specialized courses, the institute offers short-term courses - one to three days - to help workers in the field of plastic manufacturing.
